I’ve heard a good blog was one in which you could find useful information and I’m well aware that, for the time being, I haven’t given much. So I decided that today I would write something useful for my fellow readers and go over a few fundamentals about how to have fun on Saturday nights when you live in Paris.

Like most capitals, Paris has a very exciting night life. Unfortunately, just about everybody knows that, so when Saturday night comes along, you have to know that about a billion fellow Parisians are planning on doing exactly the same thing as you are : going out.

Now, unlike you (I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt here), most of these guys rarely go clubbing, have horrible taste in music, find it hip to wear sunglasses on dance floors, and, most importantly, are convinced that despite their probably insipid and miserable life they’re really hot stuff. So keep in mind that in the packed club where you’ll end up, these are the people you’ll be surrounded by, and the party will have been organised for them. Now, if you still insist on going out on a Saturday, here are three tips that can help you out:

Tip 1
If you happen to like good clubs, avoid going anywhere you usually go to, because the better the music and atmosphere are during the week, the worst they’ll be on Saturday.

Tip 2
Make sure you drink up (a lot) before you go out, for two reasons. The first is that it will be too late to get drunk once you’re inside the club (unless you plan on spending about a hundred euros). The second is that having drunk enough, chances are you won’t wake up remembering every thing that happened during the night, and you can fill out the blanks by imagining exciting stuff that didn’t but could have happened.

Tip 3
Now, if you do follow tip number 2, make sure you don’t miss out on this one. Never, ever bring your credit card. Trust me on this because you don’t want to wake up down a thousand euros for having bought drinks to strangers you don’t remember the faces of. So bring cash.
